A Bristol resident has hit out at the "terrible" treatment of Bristol residents, as hundreds were refused access after a surge in applications to become patients at the new practice.

Hundreds of people were spotted queuing outside the new dental practice with hope of getting NHS dental care.

A line formed outside the former Bupa Dental Care site, now renamed Saint Pauls Dental Practice, on Monday morning in Bristol.

Speaking to GB News Reporter Theo Chikomba, the man said: "I live just down the bottom there and when I came here, there was a long queue. I'm an old man, I can't stand for long, and this afternoon I came and they turned me away.

"It's terrible really. It's shocking. We fought for this. I live down the bottom here with my family, and that's not good. I took part when we were fighting to have a dentist here, and now look because of this, they wouldn't take anybody. That's a shame really.

"They took people from outside the area and left the people who live here. That's no good. They should have given advantage to the people who live in this area, then take the people from other parts of Bristol. But they didn't do anything like that."
