Scottish households receiving Scottish Child Payment have been reassured £112.80 support payments will arrive as scheduled on Monday, June 15, despite Scotland marking a new public holiday.
Social Security Scotland confirmed the additional bank holiday will not affect benefit payments.
A spokesman for the agency told The Express: "Just to confirm that Monday, 15 June, is a Scottish Public Holiday and doesn't affect payments."
The clarification will come as welcome news for families concerned the one-off public holiday could disrupt scheduled support payments.
Scottish Child Payment dates are based on when claimants originally applied for the benefit, meaning households due to receive payments on Monday will still see the money arrive in their accounts as normal.
The additional public holiday was introduced to mark Scotland’s opening World Cup match against Haiti.
First Minister John Swinney proposed the celebratory day off earlier this year to allow people, businesses and organisations across Scotland to mark the occasion.
The move later received formal approval from King Charles through a Royal Proclamation issued in February.

The occasion carries particular significance for Scottish football supporters because Scotland’s men’s team has not appeared at a World Cup finals tournament since 1998.
While the bank holiday will give many workers an extended weekend, scheduled Social Security Scotland payments will continue without disruption.
Scottish Child Payment is designed to provide additional financial support to lower-income households with children under the age of 16.
The benefit is worth £28.20 per week for each eligible child.

| PABecause the payment is issued every four weeks, households receive £112.80 per child during each payment cycle.
There is no limit on the number of eligible children within a household, meaning larger families may receive substantially higher payments.
To qualify, claimants must live in Scotland and be responsible for at least one child under 16 while either they or their partner receives a qualifying benefit.
Eligible benefits include Universal Credit, Income Support, Pension Credit, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance and income-related Employment and Support Allowance.
Several other benefits administered by Social Security Scotland will also continue to be paid on their normal dates despite the public holiday.
Adult Disability Payment, Carer Support Payment, Child Disability Payment, Pension Age Disability Payment and Scottish Adult Disability Living Allowance will all remain unaffected.
Social Security Scotland typically moves benefit payment dates forward when they fall on standard UK bank holidays such as Christmas or the August bank holiday.
Under the agency’s usual arrangements, payments due during those periods are often issued earlier in the week.
However, the new World Cup celebration holiday appears to be operating differently, with payments continuing on their originally scheduled dates rather than being brought forward.
