It's great news for those who love a midweek trip to the cinema

Movie buffs will now be able to enjoy discounted films thanks to a new Tesco initiative.

The supermarket giant has teamed up with Cineworld to launch 'Tesco Tuesdays', where Clubcard members can grab cinema tickets for just a fiver each.

Alternatively, they can snap them up with Clubcard vouchers "at double their value" for just £2.50.

The weekly offer lets members buy up to four standard 2D tickets every Tuesday, perfect for families or groups of friends who fancy catching the latest blockbusters at a low cost.

Securing the discounted tickets is a simple process: shoppers can simply visit the Tesco app or Clubcard website and swap at least 50p worth of vouchers for a Cineworld reward code.

Head to Cineworld's website and look for the Tesco Tuesdays option in the ticket dropdown menu, then pop in your code.

It's important to note that this offering is only available for films showing on Tuesdays – no other midweek or weekend screenings.

This latest perk joins more than 100 other Clubcard Reward Partners already available to members.

It's another win for the 24 million UK households who've signed up to the loyalty scheme.

Members can keep track of all their Clubcard Reward Partner deals through the Tesco app, from restaurant discounts to days out, and now these Tuesday cinema tickets.

Tesco group membership and loyalty director, Shama Wilson, said: "Tuesday night can now be movie night every week for Tesco Clubcard members.

"Whether you want to watch a spooky horror film in the run up to Halloween or the big Christmas blockbuster – as long as you see it on Tuesday, you can snap up a ticket at Cineworld for just £2.50 in Clubcard vouchers."

Head of corporate sales and partnerships at Cineworld, Grainne Clarke, added: "Tesco Tuesdays is the next step in our ongoing partnership with Tesco Clubcard.

"Over the past year, we've worked closely together to strengthen that collaboration and find new ways to reward loyalty on both sides.

"This always-on offer gives Clubcard members £5 cinema tickets every Tuesday – a simple, rewarding way to enjoy the big screen for less."

In other Tesco news, the supermarket recently expanded its free fruit and veg scheme to support thousands of Britons.

As part of its Fruit & Veg for Schools programme, the retailer has pledged to work with 500 schools in 2025 and 2026.

The scheme will allow participating schools to pop into their local Tesco to pick up fresh produce for pupils, free of charge.

It comes at a great time, as just 12 per cent of children aged 11 to 18 get their five-a-day.

The programme focuses on schools where more than half of the pupils get free school meals, as lower-income families are more likely to struggle to afford a healthy diet.

It aims to provide select children with a "nutritious boost they might not ordinarily get".
