The meal kits land in supermarkets just in time for National Curry Week

Marks & Spencer Food has launched five brand-new curry kits, and they're "brilliant value" at £2.50 each.

These aren't your average supermarket curry sauces either, with the retailer promising restaurant-quality dishes brimming with "authentic" flavours.

They can be whipped up in just 15 to 30 minutes, providing a fuss-free cooking experience.

The range includes "some of Britain's favourite curries", including crowd-pleasers like Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala.

There are also some exciting regional options from Kerala and Goa, plus a fiery Jalfrezi for those who love a bit of heat.

It's perfect timing for anyone looking to spice up their midweek dinners or create a Friday night fakeaway without breaking the bank.

Each kit brings something special to the table. The Butter Chicken delivers that creamy, tomato-rich "comfort food" we all love, while the Tikka Masala – Britain's favourite curry – comes with a smoky tandoori twist thanks to its mango powder marinade.

For those after something different, the Keralan option offers coconutty South Indian flavours with zesty lime and green chilli.

The Goan kit balances creamy coconut with tangy tamarind and a touch of fennel, inspired by the region's coastal cuisine.

And if you can't resist a curry that packs a "punch", the Jalfrezi brings the heat with its tomato-based sauce packed with onions and green chillies.

Each dish includes a ghee or butter base paste and a "perfectly matched curry sauce", plus either roasted spice blends or whole spices for a traditional tadka finish.

What's more, the experts behind these convenient kits are the only ones in the UK to grind their spices fresh.

You'll need to add a few bits yourself – chicken, prawns, or a veggie alternative, and cream and vegetables, depending on which kit you choose.

You can use them to make Speedy Beef & Pea Curry, Swiss Chard & Chickpea Curry, or even branch out with a Butter Chicken & Squash Traybake.

There's also an Indian-inspired Lentil & Sweet Potato Pie if you want to experiment beyond your usual chicken curry routine.

Product developer at M&S Food, Ella van Vredenburch, said: "It's no secret that the nation loves a good curry.

"But we know plenty of Brits would be unsure about cooking an authentic one from scratch at home: from sourcing the right spices and getting the balance of heat just right, to mastering techniques like finishing a dish with a tadka.

"That's why we've spent months creating these super convenient kits to take the guesswork out of the equation without compromising on flavour, making them perfect for midweek meals when you're short on time or if you fancy a Friday night 'fakeaway'.

"It's as easy as add one or two extras and then you’re done – curry night, sorted!"
