A renowned fashion designer spoke exclusively to GB News about how women can use their wardrobe to look younger

There are plenty of options out there for women who want to shave years off their physical appearance.

Ladies can transform themselves by revamping their skin care routine, getting a new haircut or even taking up a type of exercise. According to one major expert, a woman can look younger instantly by reworking her wardrobe and makeup bag.

British fashion designer Amanda Wakeley, who has been awarded an OBE for her services to the fashion industry, spoke exclusively to GB News about how women can maintain a youthful look regardless of age.

According to the expert, women do not have to make current trends the be-all and end-all, rather just incorporate them into their own wardrobes. Personal style is key.

Amanda said: "Remember that feeling confident in whatever you are wearing is the real trick.

"Try to work out your style DNA and add trend pieces in as they appeal to you. Wear your clothes - don’t let them wear you - and most importantly enjoy."

Another tip the expert had was to not overdo it. She said: "As the years creep by I think a 'less is more' approach feels more youthful."

She also told women how they can play with opposite styles in order to achieve ageless beauty.

She said: "If you have a great blow dry play down your makeup. Alternatively, if you have long hair, pull it back into a casual ponytail but add a sleek red lip.

"Also, I would suggest dressing down your look with one element. Add a pair of sneakers or a white T-shirt (or both) to a trouser suit.

"Or try doing the reverse - add a statement piece of jewellery like a chunky gold or silver necklace to jeans and a T-shirt and shoulder robe with an oversized mannish blazer - always more flattering to wear this way).

"Adding a sporty touch adds an element of cool: a tailored coat over joggers, a hoodie and sneakers adds a layer of sophistication, and there are some great woollen baseball caps to complete the look."

The style mogul added that a "bonus" of this look is that you can "disguise less than perfect hair".

While style hacks can be learned, personal taste is a very individual matter. In order to look their best, women must find what works for them, from cut to colour to shape.

According to a wellness expert, women can look 10 years younger in "days" if they ditch an inflammatory food.

She said: "When your body becomes inflamed you get bloated, puffy and dark circles under your eyes. Your skin colour can become grey and your eyes, hair and nails can look dull and lifeless."
