Houses in Manchester have sold for around £291,985 in the last year, according to Rightmove.
Flat sold for around £191,330 and semi-detached properties brought in about £320,215.
This is in contrast to prices in Bristol, where a house averages £386,827, and London, with an average price of £702,988.
Manchester has a range of restaurants, bars, shops and museums, meaning there is plenty to keep shoppers entertained.
