Ian Brown has lived in more than 10 homes in a northern city

Ian Brown has lived across the UK, residing in London before moving to Manchester.

The Stone Roses singer was born in the north of England and has called it home for much of his life.

Manchester is a bustling city in the north of England known for the musical talent it has produced.

Ian has spoken on what he loves about the city and why he moved back.

House prices are more affordable than other popular British cities


“We've got people from all over the world that live in Manchester but we all get on, don't we?"

I've lived in 14 addresses across Manchester and I love it all. I love it," he told Manchester Evening News in 2013.

There is a lot going on the Manchester and it's a cheaper alternative to pricier British cities like London and Bristol.

Houses in Manchester have sold for around £291,985 in the last year, according to Rightmove.

Flat sold for around £191,330 and semi-detached properties brought in about £320,215.

This is in contrast to prices in Bristol, where a house averages £386,827, and London, with an average price of £702,988.

Manchester has a range of restaurants, bars, shops and museums, meaning there is plenty to keep shoppers entertained.

Genesis star Mike Rutherford lived in the "stunning" British village of Surrey.

Mike has enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area in a home in Chiddingfold.

The Jam's Bruce Foxton has lived in a town with "picturesque riverside scenes".

He owned a mansion in Wonersh, which is also located in Surrey near London.
