A well-loved British fashion retailer has issued a safety recall for seven styles of bikini tops sold in stores between November 2024 and June 2025.
Matalan has warned that underwiring in the affected swimwear can push through the fabric while being worn, potentially causing skin injuries.
The safety issue poses a risk of cuts and scratches to wearers when the metal underwiring breaks through during use.

As a result, the retailer has determined that these products fail to comply with the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
The Government instructed: "The products present a risk of injuries as the underwiring can protrude from the casing during use, which may result in the user receiving scratches or cuts to the skin.
"If you have purchased any of the affected bikini tops, please stop using it immediately and return it to your nearest Matalan store for a full refund," the warning added. "You will not need to produce a receipt."
Customers who purchased any of the affected bikini tops can return them to their nearest Matalan outlet.
