Despite the criticism, others found Seann's response to the latest trial 'hilarious'

Seann Walsh left I'm A Celebrity... South Africa fans calling for his exit as some became "fed up" of the comedian's "annoying" behaviour.

The response flooded social media during his trial on Tuesday, which also left presenters Ant and Dec struggling to contain their laughter after Mr Walsh delivered a spectacularly wrong answer to a music question.

The 40-year-old was asked to complete the famous Toto lyric "I bless the rain down in..." and confidently buzzed in with his response: "Spain."

The hosting pair were spotted concealing their faces behind cue cards as they struggled to compose themselves following Mr Walsh's blunder.

When the correct answer was explained to him, with Ant and Dec singing the 1982 hit Africa, a bewildered Walsh defended his choice.

"I just thought it rhymed with rain," he protested, adding: "I don't know, it rhymes!"

The moment sparked widespread amusement on social media, with viewers taking to X to share their reactions.

One user wrote: "I just spat my drink out lmao 'I bless the rains down in Spain'" whilst another added: "Blessed the rain down in Spain (crying emojis) oh that's got me!!"

However, not all viewers were entertained by Mr Walsh's performance during the cliff-edge challenge.

His visible and loud fear throughout the trial drew criticism from some, with one viewer posting: "I'm really getting fed up with Seann."

Another complained: "Seann Walsh is such a whinge bag," whilst a third declared: "Seann is becoming very annoying."

"I don’t remember Seann Walsh being this annoying first time round. Perhaps I'd just blocked it out. #ImACeleb #ImACelebSA," someone else agreed.

Another penned: "Seann is like a broken record. #imaceleb."

Some had a more positive reaction to Mr Walsh though, with one writing on Instagram: "Seann might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I find him hilarious." (sic)

The gruelling trial saw four celebrities – Mr Walsh, Mo Farah, Sinitta and Beverley Callard – suspended on a platform at the edge of a cliff whilst being quizzed on general knowledge.

Each incorrect answer forced the contestants to sever one of the ropes keeping them airborne, with the final person remaining declared the winner.

Olympic champion Mr Farah was the first to plummet over the edge after cutting all his ropes, followed by pop star Sinitta.

The contest ultimately came down to Mr Walsh, clinging on with just a single rope, against Ms Callard who retained three.

When asked to identify the collective noun for elephants, Ms Callard correctly answered "a herd," sealing Mr Walsh's fate and securing victory for the Rhinos team for a second consecutive day.

The celebrities have been divided into two competing teams – the Lions and the Rhinos – following the introduction of new camp leaders earlier in the week.

Former football manager Harry Redknapp and ex-midfielder Jimmy Bullard now oversee the rival factions as the ITV spin-off series enters its second week.

Unlike the main Australian series broadcast live each evening, the South African edition was pre-recorded last year, believed to have been filmed in September.
