Your go-to makeup routine may have served you in your 20s, 30s, and even your 40s. However, to look your best in your 50s and beyond, it may require a slight revamp.
Skin ageing is inevitable, and while there's plenty women can do to slow it down, fine lines, wrinkles, sagging (and the rest) always surface at some point.
The area around the eyes is often quick to display signs of ageing. While all of the skin loses collagen and elastin over time, this area is particularly thin, not to mention under lots of strain from constant facial expressions and blinking.
As a result, many women report very visible crow's feet, dark circles, undereye bags, and puffiness, plus watery eyes, thanks to sagging eyelids that prevent proper tear drainage.

Aesthetic nurse Clare McLoughlin from Consulting Room explained: "Skin tone plays a big role here, as we are less likely to have a tan at this time of year, which would make dark circles look much more noticeable.
"A lack of vitamin D from natural sunlight also leads to dullness and a paler complexion, while low temperatures dehydrate the skin and trigger swelling and puffiness."

"Set it lightly with a translucent powder to prevent creasing and keep your eyes looking fresh and awake all day."
How to keep eye makeup from smudging with watery eyes
"Watery eyes are common, but they do not have to ruin your look. Use waterproof mascara and eyeliner, as these stay put even if your eyes start to water.
"Prime your eyelids with an eye primer to prevent eyeshadow from smudging or creasing.
"Keep your eye makeup soft and simple – think smudge-proof pencils or cream shadows.
"If tears do come, gently pat with a tissue rather than rubbing, which can cause further smudging.
"This way, your eyes stay defined and gorgeous, no matter what the weather throws at you."
