The slimmer credited three key elements for helping her create lasting change

The internet is awash with wide-ranging advice on how to shift spare tyres around the waist, but the tips often conflict.

Over on TikTok, one user has shared three lifestyle changes she implemented to lose 6st 6lb and completely transform her midsection.



Sarah (@sarahlostweight) explained that eating fewer calories than your body burns, following a specific eating window each day, and incorporating movement into your daily routine were key to her transformation.

Aside from helping her lose a staggering amount of weight, the step-by-step approach helped eliminate her emotional eating and silence persistent food cravings.

One key element that helped break Sarah's emotional attachment to food was creating a calorie deficit, though she stressed that you don't need to count every calorie.

Instead, she recommended finding your daily calorie baseline using an online total body expenditure calculator, where you input your personal details and activity levels.

Once you know your baseline, you'll eat below that amount to create the deficit needed for weight loss. But Sarah warned against making the deficit too large, especially for beginners.


"My advice to you is don't make your deficit too big if you're just starting, because you might restrict too much and you might binge," she explained in her video.

This measured approach helps prevent the cycle of extreme restriction followed by overeating.

A second key approach Sarah's implemented is intermittent fasting for approximately 17 hours each day. In other words, she begins eating at 11am and finishes her last meal by 6pm, creating a seven-hour eating window.

"Fasting has a lot of benefits, but for me, I just liked having a routine. It definitely helped my eating habits and helped me lose weight," Sarah shared in her TikTok video.

While intermittent fasting isn't essential for everyone, Sarah explained that structured eating schedules can prove particularly helpful for weight loss.



The routine aspect provides clear boundaries around when to eat rather than constantly making food decisions throughout the day.

Sarah's third strategy involved daily cardiovascular exercise, which also helped amend her mental relationship with food, she explained.

She discovered that working out when feeling stressed or anxious helped quiet the constant thoughts about eating.

"I have emotional attachments to food and needed some way to break that food noise," Sarah noted.

"The break thinking about food all the time, and I did this by just training my mind, by working out when I was stressed or had anxiety, and it definitely did its job."

Now 6st lighter, Sarah never experiences food noise, has stopped emotional eating, and no longer struggles with binge eating.

Sarah's achievement comes off the back of the impressive body transformation of Beth Kendra, who lost close to 3st 8lb after adhering to a calorie deficit and regular pilates routine.

Like Sarah, the slimmer explained in a recent TikTok that a mindset shift proved crucial to achieving her body transformation.

“Let’s talk about how I got my stomach from this to this,” she told viewers. “First of all, the most important thing is fat loss.

“I lost weight, I lost over 50lbs. How did I do that? Calorie deficit, that is the only way you can lose weight, in a calorie deficit.”
