A new electric vehicle charging benchmark has been reached in the UK, which could see vehicles charged in a much shorter period of time than standard devices.
Windrose Technology has recorded its fastest-ever charging session using its E700 eHGV using the Voltempo Megawatt scale HyperCharger.
As part of the trial, the Windrose E700 achieved speeds of 600kW at 745 amps, which experts say could be a huge boost for charging infrastructure.
It recorded that the E700 electric HGV received 352kWh of electricity over a 42-minute period, equating to more than 250 miles of range.

The Voltempo HyperCharge can deliver up to 1,000kW of power, with the company adding that motorists could recharge "in minutes".
The British company aims to roll out more than 50 ultra-fast chargers along the busiest traffic routes around the UK next year.
The device can charge up to six vehicles at once, with Voltempo working with eFREIGHT 2030 to build the UK's biggest charging network at 37 depots.
Commenting on the latest charging breakthrough, Wen Han, CEO and founder of Windrose, said: "This proves electric HGVs are no longer theoretical. They are operational, credible, and scaling - fast.

"For fleets, the equation is simple: faster charging drives utilisation. As oil prices rise, the cost advantage becomes clearer."
Mr Han said this was clear evidence that electric heavy goods vehicles can compete with diesel vehicles through economics, not just ambition.
He also stated that Windrose and Justin Yu, head of Northern Europe at the company, were "excited to soon break our own record again soon".
Simon Smith, CEO of Voltempo, emphasised how this was a "story of both UK and Chinese innovation", which was crucial to the successful trial of the technology.

CEO Simon Smith said Voltempo wanted to expand coverage of ultra-rapid EV chargers around the UK

He added: "This is the fastest charging we’ve seen in the UK. Charging at that speed is incredible.
"Truck drivers must stop every 4.5 hours, for 45 minutes, and in that time, you can add around 270 miles.
"You simply can't drive that distance in the next four hours at an average of 56mph. In effect, you're charging faster than you can use the energy."
Mr Smith noted that the latest demonstration of the technology was evidence of how vehicles and infrastructure are accelerating.

This would be done along the strategic road network, with new motorway hubs helping fleets and businesses have confidence in the switch to zero emission motoring.
It comes as the Government plans to ban the sale of new diesel trucks weighing 26 tonnes or less by 2035, with this extending to all heavy trucks five years later.
Devices like the Voltempo HyperCharger could help companies switch to electric vehicles if they know that they can make the switch, without relying solely on depot charging.
