The slimmer turned to weight loss jabs after her persistent preoccupation with food became a challenge

With nearly half of the world’s population expected to be overweight by 2035, demand for weight loss drugs in the coming years is guaranteed.

But while studies continue to yield positive results, some users have complained about unpleasant side effects from the treatment.

Youtuber Liz (@fitwithliz) recently shared that she had successfully reached her target weight after losing 2st 12lb, despite experiencing dry mouth and an unexpected reaction to her morning brew.

The slimmer had previously tried several approaches to weight loss, including various programmes and diets, but to no avail.

“I had such a big appetite,” she explained, describing her incessant thoughts about eating as “food noise”.

“I was constantly thinking about it all the time. I’d tried everything in the past, including Slimming World, and calorie counting. It would take me so long to lose weight, and then I’d gain it back.

“I would go to bed thinking about what I would have for breakfast in the morning, I’d have my breakfast and be thinking about a snack.

"I’d be thinking about lunch, be thinking about dinner, be thinking about a snack before bed."

After recognising that her all-consuming relationship with food presented an insurmountable hurdle to weight loss, she decided to leap with Mounjaro, revealing how her side effects varied with different dosages of the medication.

“I had a lot of nausea on 5mg, then that went away, and that felt really good,” she told viewers.

"The side effects for me were really bad bloating, I had vivid dreams and a really dry mouth. I felt like I had had a whole bottle of wine every single night before bed.

"It was not nice, but it’s not that bad compared to other people’s side effects.

"Then I moved up to 7.5mg, which I’m still on now. And I’ve been fine with that; there have been no big side effects."

But after adjusting her dose, a particularly troublesome side effect for Liz concerned her morning coffee intake.

"I couldn’t drink coffee on an empty stomach," she declared. "I’d have to wake up and eat something, even if I didn’t want to, then drink coffee, and I’d be fine.

"If I didn’t do that, then I’d feel really, really sick. Luckily, that has gone away now."

The YouTuber added that she met her target weight last week, joining others who have reached significant milestones in their fitness journey.
