The UK doctor expressed relief at achieving the weight loss without calorie counting

A UK-registered GP has revealed her weight loss transformation after shedding 3st 8lb over three months using the diabetes medication Mounjaro.

Dr Emma Anders revealed she has dropped from a size 20 to a size 10 while taking the drug, all without calorie counting.

"It's been over three months now since I started taking Mounjaro; I've gone from a dress size 20 being very tight to a size 10," the NHS and private GP told viewers.

The doctor has been sharing her experience with the medication after it helped her achieve significant weight loss in a relatively short timeframe. In a recent clip, she disclosed that her Body Mass Index plummeted from 34 to 25.

"I've gone from a BMI of 34, which is nearly morbidly obese, to today hitting a BMI of 25, which is healthy - and I am thrilled with that," she explained.

Remarkably, Dr Anders achieved these results while maintaining the lowest available dose of the medication, noting that it has significantly altered her relationship with food and hunger.

"I am still on 2.5mg of Mounjaro, I haven't increased my dose, because I am losing weight on 2.5 mg," she shared.

"It is true that I could increase it to 5mg and see if I lose more, but it's working now, so why risk the side effects?

"After about three to five weeks after I went on it, I started to get full after I ate. That has continued to evolve, even though the level of Mounjaro in my system will now be at a steady state," she revealed.

Dietary preferences often shift too, with Dr Anders now gravitating towards healthier options.

"When I was previously restricting, I still loved my junk food, and one of the things that is definitely changing on the mounjaro is that I'm going more and more for whole foods, and I'm getting rid of as much ultra-processed food from my diet as I can," she explained.

Addressing concerns about her rapid weight loss from a medical standpoint, Dr Anders added: "People have said I should be concerned about the speed of my weight loss, and it's not healthy.

"But when it comes to generic [weight loss guidelines], I know as a doctor that you need to challenge guidelines sometimes."

The GP emphasised her focus on sustainable habits rather than extreme measures, expressing relief at avoiding calorie counting.

"The most important thing for me is to know that what I'm doing is healthy and that I'm not doing anything extreme or dramatic," she said.

"I could not imagine a life more tedious than one where I have to track calories, but I don't really have to imagine that because I've spent most of my life so far doing it."
