Dancing on Ice’s Ricky Norwood has struggled to get near the top of the leaderboard throughout the competition

Dancing on Ice’s Ricky Norwood could see the end of his skating journey this weekend as an expert has revealed the worrying trend happening across the remaining contestants.

As the contestants continue to be narrowed down, many of the skaters are ramping up their performances whilst being under the watchful eye of the judges.

The nerves are getting to the celebrities which recently impacted Ryan Thomas who fell over twice during his performance, and Norwood after failing to reach the top of the leaderboard once again.

Dance expert Dr Jill has explained the worrying trend she has picked up on over the last couple of weeks which could spell an elimination for Norwood this weekend.

Speaking to GB News on behalf of Heart Bingo, she explained: “Ricky and Ryan are going to be going out because the women have already been narrowed down right.

“Greg and Miles are the leading men and then Eddie because he is the leading man in his category, he is adding dimension to the show but he is not a contender for the win.

“He lacks upper body strength that I don’t believe he has ever had. He doesn’t in my opinion have what he needs for the partnering aspect, so he is not a contender for the win but he won’t be eliminated as early as Ryan and Ricky.”

It seems bookmakers such as olbg.com agree with Dr Jill, as Norwood has 13/10 odds of being the next celebrity to be eliminated.

Norwood recently finished second bottom on the judges' leaderboard ahead of Claire Sweeney and Lou Sanders’s skate-off.

The former EastEnders star recently clapped back at reports he had threatened to quit the show after having a huge “bust up” with skating partner Annette Dytrt.

A source told The Sun: “Ricky was trying to work on his posture but Annette was getting frustrated that he was not grasping it. He felt that Annette was treating him like a kid and was clearly frustrated at her lack of patience.

"Ricky stormed off the ice and threw his skates off in a rage while shouting 'I'm done' and 'f*** this’.”

Norwood seemed to disregard the reports and told his Instagram followers: “Hello you beautiful, beautiful people. It is show day and I am in the hair and makeup office right now. We're just about to go on and do a dress rehearsal. It's looking good so far.

“It's feeling good. Everybody is, the whole room is really busy. Everybody's really, really busy. It's all go right now."

“Just wanted to thank you for all your love and support as per usual and thank you for your votes. Thank you for just everything that you guys do. You're amazing. I hope you enjoy the show tonight. I'm sending you guys so much, so much love."

Elsewhere, judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean recently announced their retirement from skating, with Dean expressing: “I think there comes a time when you know.

“We’re not spring chickens anymore, but we’re still able to do it to a certain degree we feel good about it, but that will go.

“This is the right time for us to be able to do that and go and skate and do some of the old routines, be very nostalgic, but then do some new, fun, upbeat [dances] with friends of ours from the skating world and from Dancing on Ice.”
