The heavyweight boxer almost came to blows with Simon when an interview took a rather heated turn

GB News star Michelle Dewberry has publicly shown her support for her partner, Simon Jordan, after the radio presenter found himself on the receiving end of a verbal onslaught from heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder.

Ahead of his bout with British boxer Derek Chisora, Mr Wilder spoke to Mr Jordan on his radio show to promote the face-off, but things took a turn when the former Crystal Palace owner brought up Tyson Fury.

Mr Fury and Mr Wilder's public feud is no secret to boxing fans everywhere, but it quickly became clear that the American did not want to entertain questions about it.

"I don't want to talk about him," Mr Wilder promptly declared when Mr Jordan began his questioning about Mr Fury.

"We're here about Derek Chisora, we are not gonna talk about him at all. Understand that."

However, Mr Jordan was undeterred and questioned the 40-year-old about his claims that Mr Fury had cheated during their last two bouts, both of which Mr Fury won.

"You talked about the water being spiked, the Game of Thrones outfit being too heavy for you," Mr Jordan pressed, describing Mr Wilder's accusations as "flaky".

An agitated Mr Wilder fired back: "Because I know the truth! I have the facts. Understand that.

"I got the proof, I have got the people to tell it. Understand that. What I say in boxing is the truth; I risk my life for your entertainment.

"Why is it so much harder to believe a black man than a white man?"

"This has nothing to do with colour," Mr Jordan rebutted, but Mr Wilder refused to calm down, raging: "This whole world has a problem with race. Do you think your life has been like mine? You have white privilege.

"I'm a black man with dark skin. Nothing has ever been given to me. Your view as a little boy is totally different to my view as a little boy. Most black people have PTSD because we have been through so much s***."

With tempers flaring, Mr Wilder rose from his seat and began stomping towards Mr Jordan, prompting security personnel to intervene.

"The m*****f**** cheated, tell him to sue me so I can show the facts early. I told you not to bring him up, it hasn't got s*** to do with him," Mr Wilder fumed.

As Mr Jordan tried to defuse the situation, Mr Wilder refused to listen: "I don't give a f*** about that! I said we didn't want to bring him up in the first place. It ain't got s*** to do with him!"

Mr Wilder eventually left the TalkSport studio alongside his team, leaving Mr Jordan and his co-stars to pick up the pieces of his outburst.

The boxer was widely condemned by listeners for his behaviour, including the People's Channel's Michelle, who defended her partner's line of questioning.

"What an oddball," Michelle penned on X alongside a pair of eyes emoji and a head exploding cartoon, before clarifying: "And I don’t mean @Sjopinion10."

Before long, several of the Dewbs & Co star's fans echoed her thoughts. "I like how calm your man stays in the face of all that," one X user replied.

A second praised: "Simon doesn't get intimidated, he will say his opinion no matter if you like it or not. Great show."

"Asked a difficult question. Don't like it. Claim racism. Standard. Exhausting," a third said of Mr Wilder.

And a fourth weighed in: "Simon asks questions others wouldn't. Fair play to him. Handled a difficult situation well. There's no preparation for something like that." (sic)

There's a lot at stake between Mr Chisora and Mr Wilder when the pair meet, with talk of retirement on the horizon for the loser.

However, whoever emerges victorious may fancy their shot at a unified title shot against reigning champion Oleksandr Usyk.
