Matt Hancock has been mocked by Stephanie Takyi after it was revealed that he will be taking part in the latest series of Channel 4’s hit show, Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
Speaking on Breakfast with Stephen Dixon and Anne Diamond, the showbiz reporter revealed the details of the former Health Secretary’s new reality TV show stint.
Stephanie Takyi said: “If we thought that I'm A Celebrity was the last time we were gonna see Matt Hancock on TV, think again. He signed up now to Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins for 80 hours work. Guess how much he got paid? £45,000.
“So Matt has banked really good from his reality TV career. I said from last year that that was going to be birth of Matt Hancock, the reality TV star, and I've been proven right, he said it's one of the most toughest challenges he's done both physically and mentally. He's been really put through his paces in North Vietnam with a with a host of 15 other celebrities as well."
Takyi continued: “It was recorded before I'm A Celebrity, so he's been sitting on this for about nearly a year now. They know what's happened. But it's all hands off, they are really put through their paces.
“He is a tough guy, and he says in the quotes he’s put out that being the Health Secretary during the pandemic, that was a really tough challenge he went through. But he said he wanted to put himself through further challenges to prove how strong he is.
“He did kind of warm the nation's heart when he was on I'm A Celebrity, and so I don't know how he'll do on this show.”
