Lulu has announced that after 60 years in the entertainment business, she is going to be taking step back from putting on her huge tours.
Lulu has never taken a break from her music career and continued to perform around the world to her loyal fans.
She is best known for winning the Eurovision Song Contest with her song Boom Bang-a-Bang in 1969, and other songs such as To Sir With Love, Oh Me Oh My and I Could Never Miss You.
Lulu has also had success within her acting career and starred in Absolutely Fabulous as herself, Heartbeat, Whatever Happened to Harold Smith and voiced Nellie the Elephant.
However, despite still having a loyal following of fans, she announced this week that she will be retiring from touring following her upcoming one in April.
She spoke to friend Gyles Brandreth on his podcast Rosebud and confessed: “This is actually – I’m announcing it for the first time now – this is my farewell tour, with family and friends.

“Because last year I did a tour that was kind of grueling – it was successful it went well – but you need an army to be a success in your career these days.
“And I felt unsupported. But when I turned 75, and I thought, ‘You know what, I want to carry on working, But I want to do it a different way’.”
The news will undoubtedly devastate her loyal fans, but she explained she has become a slightly “different person” and admitted to no longer being afraid to feel vulnerable.
Despite announcing the sad news, Lulu went on to discuss The Champagne For Lulu Tour which is set to end on the 60th anniversary of her very first hit single Shout.

She explained: “I'm not going to tell you exactly what I'm going to do, but of course I'll have to do Boom Bang-a-Bang.
“The audience want to do it by themselves anyway. You can't not give people what they want - and more. If you've ever seen me on tour, just let me say, you won't have seen me like this.”
Before confirming her announcement, Lulu previously teased that she had no idea what she was going on to do next in her career.
She recently said: “It’s definitely weird that I still do what I do, but I’m lucky I don’t have to be dragged, carried or wheeled on stage.

“At this point people say, ‘Is this gonna be your last tour?’ And I think, ‘Wow, that’s a question.’ But yes, actually. Possibly.”
