The Oasis front-man has finally addressed the speculation

Liam Gallagher has had his say on the handful of cryptic social media posts coming from Oasis' accounts.

In the past 48 hours, clips shared on the band's X, formerly Twitter, account has led several fans to believe they're alluding to a comeback

It's been a decade and a half since the Gallagher brothers decided to call time on the group following a bust-up and both have moved on to solo ventures since.

But on May 20, the Oasis account shared a grainy 14-second clip showing a country house surrounded by hills and a river.

There was no music or accompanying caption but that was enough to send the rumour mill into overdrive.

Just 24 hours later, the account followed the first cryptic clip with another, this time with old television footage of the band's logo before one of the Gallagher brothers can be heard saying: "It's called Definitely Maybe."

Definitely Maybe was Oasis' debut studio album, released in 1994, and included some of the band's best-known hits, including Live Forever, Supersonic, and Half the World Away.

Both have been viewed more than 1.8 million times on the social media site as well as being reposted and "liked" thousands of times each.

On Wednesday morning, 51-year-old Gallagher himself took to X where he began answering questions put to him by Oasis fans.

"MOONING," he penned, which prompted one person to ask outright: "Liam what’s with all these new oasis posts on socials?"

The Oasis singer shared an oblivious response, answering the probe: "God knows someone must be selling something."

However, in another response to one of his followers, Gallagher heightened speculation a reunion was on the cards.

"Ready to reunite with your brother?" another follower asked to which he simply replied: "Yep."

Eagle-eyed fans have offered a differing theory to the reunion speculation, however, after spotting a possible reference the house included in the first clip holds to the band's first album.

Some claimed the home looked eerily similar to the English music studio where Oasis recorded Definitely Maybe three decades ago.

As a result, several suggested this post could be alluding to a special 30th-anniversary release of the iconic record.

At the time of writing, Oasis is yet to announce what they've got in the pipeline.
