Rio Ferdinand's wife Kate has admitted to "missing" the United Kingdom after she and her husband ditched the UK for a new life abroad.
The duo made the switch alongside Mr Ferdinand's daughter from his first marriage, Tia, 13, and their two kids, Cree, five, and Shae, two.
Mr Ferdinand's two eldest children from his first marriage, Lorenz, 19, and Tate, 17, haven't moved out permanently.
Last year, Mr Ferdinand explained the reasoning behind the lifestyle overhaul, citing the current Labour government's tax hikes and performance in office as a major factor.
Rio Ferdinand and his wife, Kate Ferdinand, recently moved to Dubai | GETTYMr Ferdinand said in November last year: "If things like the health service, for example, was absolutely flying and working perfectly well then I think people wouldn’t mind paying tax.
"But when there’s things that are falling apart and going wrong in the country, then I sit there and go, 'We pay towards tax and is it really going towards the things that are actually benefiting the people that live here?'
"And that’s the big question that needs answering. I think a lot of us know the answer to that."
While their switch may have been financially motivated, Mr Ferdinand is said to be "loving" his time in Dubai. However, Ms Ferdinand has admitted she is "struggling" to match his enthusiasm.
"I feel like we've opened our eyes to a different world. But I love London, I love the UK. I love so many things about the UK," Ms Ferdinand explained.
"I do feel happy in Dubai, but I'm just missing a part of me."
She went on: "I think it's an amazing place to live, I think it's amazing for the children. The children are thriving and happy and living a life of just outside freedom.
"Rio loves it so much. I am enjoying it, but I miss home quite a lot. I get upset. I miss the big boys a lot and I'm just struggling with that."

Rio and Kate Ferdinand moved to the Middle East with their children
| INSTAGRAMDespite the "struggles", Ms Ferdinand insisted the move was the correct course of action.
She added on her Blended podcast: "I know this decision is right for my younger children, and as a family we are settled there, but the boys are following their football careers. So they're doing what they want to do otherwise, they'd be with us.
"But it's very hard because we've been through so much as a family and we've always been together and that's a huge adjustment."
Ms Ferdinand, who shot to fame on the ITV reality series The Only Way Is Essex, also explained how her family feels safer in the UAE rather than London.

"I think I miss people. I miss the rain. The cold, cool air on your face. I miss the culture of England. Certain types of people and all different types of people.
"That's also something I like about Dubai, that my kids are being brought up with all sorts of cultures."
Ms Ferdinand is no stranger to sharing her personal woes and battles with fans via social media, and has been using her platform of late to explain how tricky she's finding the start to 2026.
The former reality TV star previously explained how she felt pressure to "do everything" and that the stress had resulted in "exhaustion".
So much so, when reflecting on January in a separate Instagram post last week, Ms Ferdinand detailed what her life had looked like.
"My January, Lots of self reflection, Lots of 'No's', Slowing down, Matching buns with Shae, Less gym, More food, More listening to my body," she began to list.
Ms Ferdinand went on: "Zooms from bed, So much fatigue, Even though I've had lots more sleep!!, Less instgramable moments, More deep self care, Lots of acne! Family time, So many Ronnie cuddles." (sic)
She added it was "not the January I envisioned" but conceded it was the month that "my body has needed" in order to recover.
