The Towie star died last week in Majorca

Jake Hall's brother Sonny has broken his silence on social media following the sudden death of the former The Only Way Is Essex (Towie) star who died last week in Majorca.

In his first public statement since the tragedy, Sonny posted a moving piece titled The Dragonfly, a short story commonly shared to help explain loss to children.

The tale follows a water beetle ascending from the depths of a pond before undergoing a transformation into a dragonfly that "soared and saw the beauty of a whole new world."

The narrative conveyed a message that the creature's existence had "been fulfilled, rather than ended," concluding with the promise that the dragonfly would reunite with loved ones after it "raised his wings and flew off into his joyous new life."

Jake, who was 35 years old, was discovered dead on Wednesday at a holiday villa on the Spanish island.

Police are treating his death as accidental after interviewing four men and two women in connection with the incident.

Reports indicate the fashion designer and reality television personality sustained injuries after running through a patio door at the upscale rental property, with his wounds apparently caused by glass shards.

The brothers shared a particularly close relationship, with Jake publicly celebrating Sonny's achievements in the music industry.

In a social media post from 2024, Jake wrote: "You worked so f***ing hard to achieve what you did today it took a lot blood sweat and tears I know and I'm proud of you go enjoy today you deserve it my little big brother." (sic)

Jake's former partner Misse Beqiri, who shares eight-year-old daughter River with the late star, posted an emotional tribute on Instagram over the weekend.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire star wrote: "I never thought I would ever have to write this, and the pain of even putting these words down feels unbearable.

"There was no way you were ever supposed to go. My heart is shattered, and so is our daughter's."

She described how Jake "lit up every room" with his smile, charm and energy, adding: "Your constant mission to stop me from taking naps still makes me smile."

Beqiri, 39, who had an on-off relationship with Mr Hall spanning five years, spoke of his profound devotion to River.

"Your love for her was so strong it almost scared me, because I knew you would go to the ends of the earth for her," she wrote, pledging to keep their daughter "safe, loved, and wrapped in the kind of love you gave so effortlessly."

Those close to Jake have spoken of his struggles in the months before his death, with friends describing him as "lonely and lost" during that period.

A friend told the Daily Mail: "Being famous and rich was the worst thing that could have happened to him.

"Being on the show was the worst thing he could have done, it sent him off the rails. He was very up and down."

The insider claimed Mr Hall aspired to "live like Cristiano Ronaldo" despite having a reality television star's income, and suggested some people in his circle were not genuine friends.

Fellow reality star Georgia Harrison offered her support to Sonny following his tribute post, writing: "Sending you so much love sonny I'm thinking of you all the time."
