The 33-year-old is currently touring the country with his own dance show

Giovanni Pernice is said to have joked about the ongoing reports of a feud between himself and former BBC Strictly partner Amanda Abbington.

Abbington reportedly "demanded" footage from the BBC as she sought legal advice after being diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) following her stint on the show.

The BBC has thrown its support behind Pernice and won't launch an investigation into his conduct while Abbington has claimed she's received death threats after their feud hit headlines.

Since the reports emerged, Pernice has headed on a nationwide solo tour with the help of fellow BBC Strictly pro Lauren Oakley.

After he "thanked" fans for their support on social media amid the ongoing spat, he's also been sharing clips from his shows with his audience in the background.

On Friday, January 19, Pernice was in Guildford where among the dance routines and crowd work, he reportedly joked about the Abbington saga with Oakley.

The moment came when Pernice and Oakley both discussed their respective progress on last year's competition.

Abbington withdrew ahead of the fifth elimination of the series while Oakley's partner Krishan Guru-Murthy was sent home in Week Seven.

Pernice is reported to have hoked with Oakley about how she got further in the competition than he did, even though she had a "s**t partner".

He told the audience at Guildford: "Let’s welcome onstage a real hero, a person who made another person on Strictly Come Dancing a hero, who could not walk straight at first."

When Oakley emerged on stage, she reportedly quipped to Pernice: "I was very pleased actually….I got further than you."

Pernice let silence fill the room as he took a long pause before he began giggling, with The Sun reporting the audience took this as a deliberate jibe about his time on the show.

The Italian dancer then said: "You still had a shit partner, anyway let’s move on. You made him look great."

Pernice remarked: "The show is good isn't it? I warned you it would be edgy. We have gone for edgy, that is what we like."

While Pernice heads on his own solo tour, several of his Strictly colleagues are embarking on the Strictly Live Tour across the country.

Last year's winner Ellie Leach as well as fellow finalists Layton Williams and Bobby Brazier are just three of the celebs taking part.

Angela Scanlon, Guru-Murthy, Angela Rippon and Annabel Croft complete the celeb line-up.
