The former Escape to the Chateau star opened up on his knee pain

Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree's Channel 4 Escape to the Chateau series may have wrapped up, but interest in their unique lifestyle still captivates fans.

In a recent episode of their podcast, Dick & Angel’s Chat…Eau, Strawbridge joked about how he had recently undergone his first "Botox" procedure.

After opening up on having some knee issues recently, Strawbridge went on to talk more about treatment he had for it in last week's episode.

"I went and got this injection on my knee," the engineer and former army officer told listeners.

"Oh yeah, let's have a knee update," Adoree requested, to which her husband explained: "I went along and saw the doctor, and the doctor's lovely because he likes speaking in English which is great - he speaks in English, I speak in French.

"But the whole thing is interesting. He said, 'Right, you need to get a injection - pick up your injection file from the chemist and then go along to see the doctor at the chemist.'

"And I had a choice of going and getting an injection for free on the health service - and that would involve getting four injections a year, once every three months, or I could go private and pay for a better injection and get it just once.

"I said, 'Okay, well it sounds sensible to just get it done once if it does the job better.'

"He said it does and the cost of my single injection was €75. I was quite happy so I had my injection in my knee.

"And the way he explained it to me was [it was like] acid, but it was like getting a Botox injection."

He went on to joke: "So at 64 I've had my first Botox injection and I look so much younger. Well actually, my knee looks younger.

"And the surprise was it actually hurt! It hurt and if people get Botox and it hurts like that, why would you?

"I don't know why you'd do it anyway, personally, but I got the injection in my knee and it's easing up."

Reflecting on the injury, he pointed out: "The bottom line is you get older, your bits starting falling off - that's just the way of the world."

In another podcast, Adoree recently admitted she couldn't "bear" the thought of her two children, Arthur and Dorothy, growing up into a new phase of life.

"Yeah we are in a new era, I don't know," the 46-year-old commented, adding: "We are definitely in a new phase of Dorothy's - both the children's - celebrations.

"Looking back, I feel like we've done justice to her first decade..." after a pause, she added: "Oh my God, I can't bear it!"
