Brooklyn had made clear he wanted no social media contact or otherwise from his family

David Beckham has openly defied his son Brooklyn's demands by posting a birthday message along with childhood photos to his social media account.

The former football legend seemingly couldn't help but mark his oldest son's 27th on Wednesday, which comes amid the ongoing feud between Brooklyn and his parents.

Taking to Instagram, he shared snaps of Brooklyn as a child grinning next to his father, writing: "27 today.

"Happy birthday Bust. We love you." A second, similar post also read: "Happy birthday Bust, love you."

The post comes despite Brooklyn having "blocked" his family on the social media app, meaning he isn't likely to even see the message.

Sir David did tag wife Victoria Beckham in the post, and the fashion designer is yet to publicly acknowledge the occasion.

In January, aspiring chef Brooklyn posted a lengthy statement on social media, finally addressing a year's worth of speculation about a rift between himself and the rest of the family.

“Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last summer,” he wrote.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he also said.

He claimed that throughout his upbringing, his parents fed stories to journalists, leaving him with “no choice” but to speak out publicly to counter what he described as printed “lies”.

The budding chef also claimed his parents cared only about "brand Beckham" and their reputation.

“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” he fumed.

It is understood that Brooklyn told friends ahead of his social media outburst that social media posts from his parents in which he was tagged or mentioned had been causing him significant distress."

"It had been leading to issues with his mental health, and the letter was to protect himself," a source told the Mirror.

The situation reportedly worsened after the letter was sent last summer, with Victoria liking one of his photographs and David sharing a childhood image of Brooklyn at Christmas.

Sources claim Brooklyn's repeated requests for his parents to stop such posts had previously gone unheeded, prompting the formal legal approach.

Brooklyn's statement went far beyond social media fallouts, laying out a catalogue of deeply personal allegations against his parents, whom he accused of manipulation, press briefings, and attempting to undermine his marriage.

Brooklyn also made a series of explosive allegations surrounding his 2022 wedding to actress Nicola Peltz, including claims that relatives told him the night before the ceremony that his bride was “not blood” and “not family”.

Among the most humiliating accusations was his claim that his mother hijacked what was meant to be his romantic first dance with his wife.

He alleged that singer Marc Anthony called him to the stage where Victoria was waiting instead of Ms Peltz, before dancing “very inappropriately” with him in front of 500 guests.
