The full list of stars and films up for awards at this year's ceremony has been confirmed

The 2026 Bafta nominations have caused a stir after they were revealed today, with actors David Jonsson and Aimee Lou Wood presenting the shortlists during a live press conference in London.

The announcement came precisely one week after Oscar nominations were revealed across the Atlantic.

Scottish performer Alan Cumming, known for hosting The Traitors US, will preside over the main ceremony when it takes place on February 22 in the capital.

Mr Jonsson himself claimed the Rising Star prize at last year's awards and has since appeared in the Stephen King adaptation The Long Walk.

The longlists were published earlier this month, narrowing down 221 submitted films.

However, the longlist wasn't without controversy itself, with some feeling the categories neglected British talent.

And the same could be said following the confirmed list of nominees. In notable snubs of British talent, Cynthia Erivo missed out on a Leading Actress nod, as did Andrea Riseborough.

In the Supporting Actress category, longlisted star Brenda Blethyn was similarly prevented from an awards nod.

Meanwhile, Scottish director Lynne Ramsay missed out in the Director category.

There were rather surprising nods for I Swear's Robert Aramayo and Peter Mullan, however, while Carey Mulligan also swooped in for a Supporting Actress nomination.

All in all, there were 14 nominations for One Battle After Another, 13 nominations for Sinners, 11 nominations for Hamnet and Marty Supreme, eight nominations for Frankenstein and Sentimental Value, five nominations for I Swear and Bugonia, and three nominations for The Ballad of Wallis Island, Pillion and F1.
