Nicholas Ralph has offered some insights into the upcoming Christmas Special of All Creatures Great and Small, and his portrayal of veterinary surgeon James Herriot.
The 35-year-old Scottish performer discussed various aspects of the festive instalment, opening up on the "chaos" of the popular Channel 5 show.
Mr Ralph revealed that production for the Christmas episode took place during summer, specifically in July, despite its winter setting.
The actor explained how the seasonal transformation of Skeldale House affected him during filming, describing the experience as particularly immersive.

The performer also shared his reaction to the elaborate Christmas decorations that transformed the veterinary practice's headquarters, despite filming occurring in the height of summer.
Speaking to Radio Times, he added that the festive adornments had a profound effect on him, making him feel "transported" by the remarkable seasonal styling throughout Skeldale House.
He went on to describe the "chaos" surrounding the show at Christmas time, stating: "It was joyful carnage.
"The director, Andy Hay, just let a camera roll while the kids improvised.
"Then we put the animals in, and that just added to the chaos.
"James is on the back foot anyway because he’s said to Helen he'll take over the writing and directing and producing — and when I walked into the room there was absolute chaos going on, so there was no acting required, really."
