Adam Peaty’s mother Caroline has hit back at a comment accusing her of being to blame for the current fall-out with her Olympic swimmer son.
Mr Peaty is understood to have banned his mother from his wedding to Gordon Ramsay’s daughter, Holly, next month.
On Tuesday, nursery manager Ms Peaty took to social media to express her devastation after her son's extreme action during their feud, which is believed to have emerged over the differing financial situations between the two families.
"The ones I love are the people who hurt me the most," she captioned one post along with a crying face emoji.

|The harsh remark read: “O give it over. Apoligise to [your] son. All that's wrong with you is that you don't want to be left alone let [your] son grow up. He is an adult. Now you grow up.” (sic)
In response, Ms Peaty penned: “You know nothing about me or my family and your comment is not appreciated.
“As for your comment saying I don’t want my ‘son to grow up’ is a laugh, I’m happy when my children are happy as any mother is, there was no one happier than me, when my son told me he had met his soul mate x I hope that this clarifies the situation x.”
Others offered more sympathetic takes, with one writing: "Hello. I feel for you so bad. Some people as soon as they meet someone, their head gets turned by the lifestyle and forget their roots.

One person left a critical comment on Caroline's social media
|"He wouldn't be who he is without out and what you parents did for him. I hope he comes to his senses soon."
"He needs to wake up fast and remember who he is and what helped him become an Olympic champion, if it wasn’t for his family doing the early morning drops he would never [have] got the opportunity. Hold you head up high and stay strong," a third wrote.
Someone else penned: "So sorry to see your son treat you in a way no mother deserves, but let's face it, he's got enamored by a family who copy the Beckhams at every turn in life, as they are so desperate to be noticed.
"Christ @tanaramsay has even cloned herself into Victoria. @hollyramsayy the new mean girl @nicolapeltz. That old adage still applies "money can't buy class". But your son is also not showing much of it either."
"Oh Caroline. You are the best mum, always a mother figure to everyone and always there for everyone. You are an amazing lady who puts everyone else first. Sending you lots of love," someone else shared.

Others advised Ms Peaty to settle the matter privately rather than sharing updates on the situation on social media.
One concerned Instagram user offered: "Sorry to hear you are sad and hurt and wish you every happiness.
"I don't mean this to be mean but I really would stop posting your private matters publicly on the internet, it will do nothing but make matters worse. This should be something dealt with privately."

Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay are believed to be feuding with the Olympian's mother, Caroline Peaty
| PAThe couple became engaged last year, but it's understood Ms Peaty hadn't been invited to her soon-to-be daughter-in-law's hen do recently, instead remaining at home to look after Adam's young son.
Meanwhile, the influencer's pre-wedding festivities at Soho Farmhouse included her mother Tana, Victoria Beckham and Adam's sister amongst the guests.
It's believed the row goes beyond just the engaged couple, with the wider Ramsay family understood to be distant from Adam's relatives.
Sources close to the Ramsays have described how the Peatys are not Gordon and wife Tana's "cup of tea".
Speaking to MailOnline, the insider revealed there had been "difficulties" between the two families since Holly and Mr Peaty, 30, got together.
They told the publication: "The Ramsays are rich and they like the nicer things in life because they can afford it.
