Caroline Peaty has spoken out following her exclusion from both her son's forthcoming nuptials and his fiancée's recent hen celebrations.
The 59-year-old shared her anguish on Instagram, posting: "The ones I love are the people that hurt me the most."
The Olympic champion's mother published an image on Monday featuring the words: "When you love someone, you protect them from the pain, you don't become the cause of it."
She penned in the caption: "The ones I love are the people who hurt me the most," along with a crying face emoji.
Her social media activity comes after reports emerged that she has been barred from attending the December wedding between the three-time Olympic gold medallist and Gordon Ramsay's daughter, Holly.
The swimming star's sister Bethany remains the sole family member invited to the ceremony, according to sources.
The 25-year-old influencer's pre-wedding festivities at Soho Farmhouse included her mother Tana, Victoria Beckham and Adam's sister amongst the guests.
Caroline remained at her Uttoxeter home caring for her five-year-old grandson George whilst the celebrations took place in the Cotswolds.

The nursery manager endorsed a follower's comment stating: "How awful for you! Hopefully one day he will realise that loving mums should be held in high regard. No woman should try to stop that."
Sources suggest the 30-year-old swimmer has grown distant from his working-class roots since becoming involved with the celebrity chef's family.
The situation deteriorated further when Mr Peaty included Gordon Ramsay in his stag party whilst his mother received no invitation to the corresponding bridal celebrations.
Louise Williams, Adam's aunt, launched a scathing attack on Holly through social media, condemning her treatment of Caroline.

She wrote directly to the bride-to-be: "@hollyramsayy I'm so glad that you had a great hen do. As a bride, you deserve that.
"However, as a person you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman, who I have loved and continue to love deeply."
Ms Williams highlighted the disparity in wedding preparations, noting that whilst Holly had included "your mum's assistant, your sisters, your friends, my niece", she had excluded "my sister, your future mother-in-law".
She emphasised that Caroline had "opened her home and heart to you" before delivering her final assessment: "You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever."
The swimming champion's mother dedicated years to nurturing his career, rising at 4am daily for the 40-minute journey to training sessions despite her aversion to driving.
Following her nursery management duties, she would transport Adam to evening swimming clubs.
The family faced financial strain supporting his ambitions, with Caroline and her husband Mark, 65, accumulating debt to fund their son's path to success.
