Caroline Peaty has come under fire for sharing his upset about the situation on public social media forums

Adam Peaty's mum, Caroline, has taken a rather drastic step with her social media pages as the public row between her family and soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Holly Ramsay, continues.

Caroline has been using her Instagram page to express her dismay at the ongoing familial split after reports of her being banned by her own son from his upcoming nuptials emerged earlier this month.

The swimmer's mother is said to have been excluded from Holly's lavish hen do in the Cotswolds, and both Caroline and other family members have criticised Holly and Adam for their role in the row online.

Caroline has also used Instagram to defend herself against criticism that suggests she was responsible for the family rift.

After posting on Instagram that "The ones I love are the people who hurt me the most", she received a harsh comment telling her to "apologise to [your] son". The troll added: "All that's wrong with you is that you don't want to be left alone, let [your] son grow up".

The nursery manager responded firmly: "You know nothing about me or my family, and your comment is not appreciated.

"As for your comment saying I don't want my 'son to grow up' is a laugh, I'm happy when my children are happy, as any mother is, there was no one happier than me, when my son told me he had met his soul mate x I hope that this clarifies the situation x." (sic)

But after facing criticism online, as well as pleas from followers to not make her feelings public, Caroline has taken the drastic step to disable comments on her latest social media posts.

This means that, unlike the aforementioned Instagram user urging her to apologise, others are unable to share their thoughts on her most recent posts.

Her decision to disable the comments comes amid reports that armed police had to escort the Olympic swimming champion through Manchester Airport on Sunday following threatening messages received during his stag do in Budapest.

Five uniformed officers are said to have met the 30-year-old athlete at the gate, accompanying him through passport control, baggage collection, and into a waiting vehicle.

The security intervention came after he received what sources described as "increasingly threatening" text messages whilst celebrating with friends in the Hungarian capital.

Holly, the 25-year-old daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, contacted authorities after her fiancé reached out about the disturbing messages during her own hen party at Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire.

Police officers searched CCTV footage at the airport whilst hunting for suspicious individuals. A friend close to the situation explained to The Sun: "The issues that have been reported don't stem from hen do or wedding invitations; it goes so much deeper."

They claimed the crisis intensified over the weekend when someone "became increasingly abusive and threatening over text".

GB News has contacted representatives for Adam Peaty and the Ramsays previously.

Back on social media, and adding to the drama of late was Adam's aunt Louise Williams, who launched a scathing social media attack on Holly over Caroline's hen do exclusion.

She penned: "@hollyramsayy I'm so glad that you had a great hen do. As a bride, you deserve that.

"However, as a person, you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman, who I have loved and continue to love deeply."

She highlighted that Caroline had "opened her home and heart to you" and concluded: "You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever."

Caroline dedicated years to supporting Adam's swimming career, rising at 4am for the 40-minute drive to training sessions despite her aversion to driving.

The nursery manager and her husband, Mark, reportedly accumulated debt funding their son's Olympic ambitions, with neighbours organising fundraising events to help with petrol costs.

Sources close to the Ramsays suggest the Peatys are not Gordon and Tana's "cup of tea", with one insider stating to the Daily Mail: "The Ramsays are rich and they like the nicer things in life because they can afford it. On the other hand, the Peatys are far less polished."

Another source claimed: "Adam has a starry new life now, and it seems he has left his family behind."

Caroline was excluded from Holly's hen party at Soho Farmhouse, instead remaining at home to care for Adam's five-year-old son, George. Guests at the celebration included Holly's mother, Tana, Victoria Beckham, and Adam's sister Bethany.
