Britons can purchase tickets for the new dates now

Wizz Air will resume flights to Tel Aviv on August 8, more than five weeks earlier than the originally planned September 15 return date.

The budget carrier announced today that tickets are already available for purchase through its website and mobile app.

Britons will be able to fly directly from London Luton to Tel Aviv starting August 22, with services operating on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Fares from London begin at £67.99.

The accelerated restart forms part of the airline's broader resumption of services to Israel, with 10 routes to eight countries launching ahead of schedule.

The airline will offer 31,000 seats across the reinstated routes, with fares starting from €59.99 (£51) or 169 Israeli shekels. The early resumption covers destinations including Budapest, Larnaca, Milan, Rome, Vienna, Bucharest, Iasi and Sofia.

Whilst these 10 routes will begin in August and early September, the remaining 14 routes from Wizz Air's total of 24 Tel Aviv services will restart on the original September date. The budget carrier serves 11 countries from Tel Aviv in total.

The airline currently operates more than 830 routes to almost 190 destinations across 51 countries. Corporate communications manager at Wizz Air, Olivia Harangozo, said: "We're back and we're back with purpose.

"Our early return to Tel Aviv demonstrates our commitment to our loyal Israeli passengers and to keeping the world connected."

The carrier is set to reclaim its position as the largest foreign airline in Israel by capacity. The expansion represents its commitment to the Israeli market as air travel reopens in the region.

Wizz Air expects to transport 75 million passengers across its network in 2025, reinforcing its position as a major player in European budget aviation.
