Lewis told GB News: "A great destination is Tuscany, Italy, as it's the harvest season for wine, and many other local products.
"You can also go truffle hunting: September until December is the hunting season for white truffles, whereas black truffles have a longer season of June to November. This time of year also has cool, crisp mornings with warm sunny days."
Temperatures are cooler in November - around 14°C to 16°C - and holidaymakers should remember to bring warm clothing for after dark. However, the seasons can often bring crisp, sunny days.
Another huge benefit of travelling to Italy at this time of year is that there are fewer crowds to battle through when taking part in tourist activities and on the roads.

The travel expert added: "It's the perfect time of year to dine al fresco and enjoy some magical early mornings as the fog starts to burn off the dips and valleys of the rolling landscape. There are fewer crowds in the cities, and less road traffic for those looking to do a self-drive adventure."

"For example, you can fly the family to Poland and stay in beautiful accommodation for £727 less than the price of a lodge in the UK. If the price of travelling abroad over Christmas has been putting you off, then it's time to think again."
