British holidaymakers are embracing winter travel like never before, with 55 per cent now planning festive getaways.
This shows a shift from previous years, as 46 per cent said they'll be travelling more this season compared to last year's festivities.
Nearly half show flexibility about where they'll head, whilst 38 per cent have their sights set on international destinations, according to new research by Tripadvisor. Another 21 per cent are mixing it up with plans for both UK breaks and trips abroad.
This surge in winter travel plans suggests people are prioritising experiences and making the most of the festive period.

Cultural exploration tops the wish list for 43 per cent of winter travellers. Malaga's ancient Alcazaba fortress showcases stunning Moorish and Roman architecture from the 11th century.
Krakow tempts visitors with guided tours combining local cuisine, drinks and cultural discoveries, whilst Budapest's award-winning walking experiences take in iconic sights including Vigado Square and Gresham Palace.
Beach lovers aren't forgotten either, with 24 per cent seeking sunshine escapes. Puerto de Mogan in Gran Canaria promises mid-20°C temperatures and boat trips to pristine beaches throughout December and January.

Malta's Sliema also delivers reliable warmth, maintaining temperatures above 15°C during the winter months.
Budget considerations remain crucial for British travellers, with 66 per cent citing cost as their primary concern when planning winter escapes. Savvy holidaymakers can still enjoy European adventures without breaking the bank.
Malta, Poland and Hungary emerge as the most wallet-friendly options for those watching their spending. These destinations offer fantastic value whilst still delivering the experiences Brits crave, whether that's winter city breaks or warmer weather escapes.
With 84 per cent of travellers prioritising activities and experiences, and 46 per cent keen to create memories with family and friends, these affordable destinations prove you don't need to spend a fortune to enjoy a winter holiday.
