The flights will start to run in May 2026

British Airways is adding two fresh destinations to its short-haul roster, with new services to Montenegro's Tivat and the Channel Island of Guernsey launching next year.

The UK's national carrier will be the sole airline offering direct flights from London Heathrow to both locations, expanding its short-haul offerings to almost 100 destinations.

Seasonal services to Tivat begin on May 14, 2026, whilst Guernsey gets daily flights throughout the year from April 19, 2026.

It's great news for travellers who've been waiting for easier access to these spots, particularly Guernsey, which hasn't had a direct Heathrow connection before.

The Montenegro flights will take off from Terminal 3 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with the morning departure leaving at 8:45am and landing at 12:45pm local time. Later options depart at 10:10am and 11:10am, arriving at 2:10pm and 3:10pm respectively.

Return services from Tivat leave at 1:35pm, 2:55pm or 3:55pm, touching down at Heathrow between 3:45pm and 6:05pm. Fares start from £172 return including taxes and fees.

Montenegro has become increasingly popular with British holidaymakers - the country welcomed 2.6 million tourists in 2024, with international visitors making up over 96 per cent of overnight stays.

The Guernsey route operates daily from Terminal 5, with flights departing at 11:55am and arriving at 12:55pm. The return journey leaves Guernsey at 1:50pm, landing back at Heathrow at 2:55pm.

Tickets start from £101 return, including taxes and fees. Passengers can connect smoothly to over 20 European cities like Rome, Madrid and Geneva. There are also links to North American destinations including New York, Los Angeles and Toronto.

Both new routes feature Club Europe business class options, which come with lounge access at Heathrow, extra space, full meals with bar service, and increased baggage allowances.

British Airways' chief planning and strategy officer, Neil Chernoff, said: "We're pleased to be expanding our route map with the addition of two new routes for customers to explore, bringing the total number of our Heathrow short-haul network to nearly 100 destinations.

"Montenegro is an ideal choice for those seeking stunning coastlines and year-round sunshine, and the addition of Guernsey is something we know our customers have been eagerly awaiting.

"As the only direct service between Heathrow and Guernsey, the route will offer conveniently timed connections to more than 20 European destinations, providing greater choice and flexibility for both leisure and business travellers alike."

This comes as British Airways expands its routes with more flights between the UK and a vibrant US city.
