The airline has added more routes and boosted capacity over the Christmas period

Ryanair has shared its winter schedule for Cornwall Airport Newquay, bringing four routes and thousands of additional seats for the festive period.

The airline announced it's adding 2,300 extra seats specifically for Christmas week across its network from the Cornish airport.

The winter programme includes flights to sunny Alicante and Malaga, plus connections to Dublin and London. It's great news for families planning Christmas reunions or anyone looking to enjoy turkey with a Mediterranean view.

The expanded schedule represents a 10 per cent boost in passenger numbers for Cornwall this winter, with the airline promising its signature low fares to keep travel affordable.

Ryanair’s CEO, Eddie Wilson, said: “I am pleased to be at Cornwall Airport Newquay to launch Ryanair’s Winter 2025 schedule, with four routes to Alicante, Dublin, London, and Malaga, offering a selection of both winter sun destinations as well as key city connections.

"We’ve also added extra capacity for Christmas week, ensuring plenty of low-fare choice for our Cornwall customers, as well as driving traffic and tourism to Cornwall during the off-peak winter season. We wish to continue to deliver traffic and tourism growth at Newquay and across our 22 UK airports.

"Ryanair’s full Winter 2025 schedule is available to book now at Ryanair.com, with flights to/from Cornwall Airport Newquay available from just £29.99.”

The routes are already available to book on Ryanair's website, giving travellers plenty of time to plan their winter getaways or festive trips home. It's a significant commitment from the UK's biggest passenger airline to Cornwall's connectivity.

The extra Christmas capacity means families can reunite without the usual holiday booking stress. Travellers heading to Alicante and Malaga can swap British winter weather for Spanish sunshine, while the Dublin route offers vital connections for Irish families in Cornwall.

The 2,300 additional seats come at a crucial time when many people are planning their festive travel. Whether it's visiting relatives or escaping for some winter warmth, the expanded schedule provides more options at budget-friendly prices.

Ryanair's winter programme runs throughout the colder months, ensuring Cornwall maintains strong air links when tourist numbers typically drop. The airline's commitment helps keep the region connected year-round.

Managing Director at Cornwall Airport Newquay, Amy Smith, said: “Ryanair’s commitment to Cornwall Airport Newquay is fantastic news for the region. The extra capacity of 2,300 additional seats over Christmas strengthens our year-round connectivity, supports local jobs and inbound tourism, and builds momentum in the seasons ahead.

"This sustained confidence strengthens our network today and lays the groundwork for future route development and new markets that will benefit residents, businesses and visitors alike.”

This comes as Ryanair announces more winter holiday flights starting from £29.99 - including three new routes.
