The popular cruise line is changing the criteria for who can book onto voyages

Oceania Cruises has announced it is going adults-only, with the luxury cruise line now exclusively welcoming guests aged 18 and over for all new bookings.

The policy kicked in this week and applies to all future voyages, marking a huge shift for the culinary and destination-focused brand.

The decision came after listening to what passengers actually want – a more refined, peaceful experience at sea.

The Miami-based company said it is responding directly to guest preferences, with travellers consistently asking for a sophisticated atmosphere onboard.

It's a move that elevates the overall ambience for those seeking a tranquil getaway. Anyone who's already booked a cruise with children or teenagers don't need to worry, however.

The company has confirmed that all reservations made before January 7, 2026 that include travellers under 18 will be fully honoured.

The brand has stressed a desire to keep its loyal customers happy while steering towards this new chapter.

Chief luxury officer at Oceania Cruises, Jason Montague, said: "Our guests have consistently shared that the tranquil environment aboard our ships is one of the primary reasons they return time after time.

"By transitioning to an adults-only experience, we are enhancing the very essence of the Oceania Cruises journey - one defined by sophistication, serenity and discovery."

The brand is doubling down on what makes it special - that peaceful, unhurried vibe that keeps passengers coming back for more.
