Britons have more options to travel to the Middle East

British holidaymakers now have fresh travel options to Saudi Arabia with Riyadh Air's new daily service to and from London Heathrow.

The Saudi national carrier kicked off operations this week, marking a major milestone for the kingdom's aviation ambitions. It's brilliant news for Britons looking to explore Saudi Arabia, with flights running every day between London and Riyadh.

The new route opens up exciting possibilities for UK travellers wanting to discover Saudi Arabia's attractions. With daily departures, it's now easier than ever to plan trips to the Middle East.

Riyadh is growing in popularity as a tourist destination, with a mix of desert adventures and modern architecture. Key attractions include the Edge of the World, which offers incredible views of the desert. It is also a fantastic winter sun destination, with temperatures still reaching 22°C in December.

It is running overnight flights, meaning you can fly overnight and arrive fresh in London for a full day. The return schedule means you won't lose your entire day travelling either.

Dubai flights are set to join the schedule soon, giving British travellers even more Middle Eastern holiday choices. The airline plans to add this popular destination as part of its "Pathway to Perfect" strategy.

It's fantastic news for UK holidaymakers who love Dubai's beaches, shopping and attractions. Having both Riyadh and Dubai on the route map means more flexibility for multi-city trips across the region.

CEO of Riyadh Air, Tony Douglas, said: "This isn't just a launch; it's a tangible realisation of a vision to connect Saudi Arabia to the world, a core pillar of Saudi Vision 2030.

"Our commitment to begin operations in 2025 is being fulfilled. This rigorous flight program on Jamila allows us to fine-tune every detail, ensuring a seamless, reliable, and world-class experience.

"This carefully sequenced approach is our pathway to perfect, and we are now incredibly close to full operations with further destinations to be announced in the coming weeks as our new aircraft are delivered."

In more new route news, Jet2 has launched its biggest ski programme ever, which includes three new flights going from the UK.

The programme, for the 2025/26 winter season, includes flights to nine Alpine destinations taking off from 11 UK airports.
