A budget airline will launch at London Gatwick airport offering new routes to 2 European cities

Lufthansa Group's budget carrier Eurowings will start flying from London Gatwick this spring, introducing direct connections to two major German cities.

Travellers from London and the South East will gain access to Cologne from March 29, 2026, with the airline operating 13 weekly departures on the route.


Stuttgart services will follow shortly after, launching on April 13 with six flights each week. Tickets for both destinations are already available for purchase.

The new routes are great for British holidaymakers and business travellers hoping to explore two top cities in Germany.

Head of aviation development at London Gatwick, Jonny Macneal, said: "We're delighted to welcome Eurowings to London Gatwick, offering passengers even greater choice and convenience when travelling to Germany.

"These new services reflect the strong demand we're seeing for European connectivity and underscore London Gatwick's position as the UK's most well-connected airport, offering more than 230 destinations this summer."

Head of network relations at Eurowings, Reinald Frankewitz, added: "We are excited to expand our network in the UK and connect London Gatwick with two of Germany's strongest cultural and economic regions. These new routes to Cologne and Stuttgart offer travellers even greater choice and convenience."

The German carrier's arrival comes as part of a huge expansion at London Gatwick airport this summer.

Condor has secured slots to run three daily services to Frankfurt beginning in April, further strengthening the airport's German connections.

Jet2, among Britain's largest airlines, will launch 29 routes from Gatwick in March. Air France is introducing twice-daily Paris flights during the same month.

Romanian carrier Animawings will operate daily Bucharest departures, while SWISS is doubling its Zurich frequency from one to two daily services.

This now means passengers departing from Gatwick will have access to more than 230 destinations throughout the summer season.
