The charming and scenic Greek island is great for a 2026 holiday

Greece is a popular choice for a Mediterranean getaway, with beautiful islands, ancient history and must-try cuisine.

A travel agent recommended the stunning Greek village she keeps returning to that looks straight out of a movie.

Lindos in Rhodes should be next on your wishlist, according to travel agent Tana Berry from TUI’s Bolton Market Place Store.

The expert - who has visited the area seven times - praised the stunning backdrop, fun nightlife and hot temperatures.

What's more, you don't need to break the bank to enjoy your time there, with local beer costing around €4–€6 (around £3.50-£5) and cocktails at €8-€12 (£7-£11).

Berry said: “Lindos is exactly what people picture when they think of Mamma Mia!. You’ve got the whitewashed houses, the stunning views and, most importantly, amazing food - it really is a ‘winner takes it all’ kind of destination."

Temperatures often hit highs of around 30°C in the summer months, meaning sun-soaked days wandering the picturesque streets or lounging at Lindos Main Beach.

The local beach has a sandy bay with the shallow, turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea and impressive views of the Acropolis.

There are plenty of great places to eat or grab a drink in the evenings. Berry added: “I’d suggest going half-board on your accommodation, as there are so many brilliant restaurants that you’ll want to eat somewhere different every night.

“The food is incredible, and there is so much choice, but you can’t beat a chicken souvlaki. [For drinks, visit Atmosphere Bar].

“One night you’re sipping cocktails watching the sunset, the next you’re dancing to live music - it really does feel like your own Mamma Mia! moment."

For accommodation, Berry highlighted the 4-star TUI BLUE Lindos Bay, which is a beachfront resort with an outdoor and indoor pool and two a la carte restaurants.

She continued: “The staff are so welcoming and really make your stay special. Lindos will always be my heaven on earth. Once you’ve been, you’ll want to go back again and again.”
