British families dreaming of a fresh start abroad might want to look north, as new research reveals Norway is the best European country for raising children in 2025.
Research shows the top places to move to based on 20 different quality-of-life factors, and the Scandinavian nation comes out on top with an impressive index score of 71.73 out of 100.
The study by moving company Umzug-365 examined everything from healthcare access and average earnings to crime statistics and educational standards, painting a comprehensive picture of where families thrive across the continent.
Norway's numbers are genuinely remarkable. A whopping 94.06 per cent of people living there say they're happy, which is 11 per cent above the European average of 84.76 per cent.

For parents worried about healthcare, Norway offers real reassurance. The maternal mortality rate stands at just 1.31 per 100,000 live births, which is 81 per cent lower than Europe's average of 6.88.

Life expectancy in Norway reaches 83.31 years, comfortably above the European average of 80.5 years. The country also boasts an under-15 mortality rate of just 0.31 per cent, showing strong outcomes for children's health and well-being.
Finland claimed second place with a score of 67.79, where just 5.5 per cent of residents live in substandard housing, well below the European average of 9.47 per cent.
Sweden took third spot, with workers enjoying shorter hours at 1,431 annually, nine per cent below the continental average. The country's under-15 mortality rate of 0.32 per cent is 40 per cent lower than typical European figures.
Switzerland impressed with the highest life expectancy at 83.95 years and daily incomes averaging $80.14 (£60), some 76 per cent above the European norm.

A spokesperson from Umzug-365 said: “Raising a family depends on a huge range of factors relating to things like health, education, wellbeing, income, crime, and more.
"Countries like Norway, Finland and Sweden consistently rank highly in each of these categories, highlighting them as ideal locations for family life. Many of the top-ranking countries are in Northern Europe, with five of the top ten countries located here."
