The exciting European routes are exclusively Avios-Only

British Airways has unveiled two fresh Avios-Only routes departing from London City Airport, with flights heading to Madrid and Toulon Saint-Tropez this summer.

The announcement marks a milestone for the carrier, as it reaches its 50th Avios-Only service. Bookings open tomorrow, February 12, 2026, exclusively for members of The British Airways Club.

Every seat on these flights can only be purchased using Avios points, making them particularly attractive for loyal customers looking to spend their rewards.

London City Airport's central location makes these routes especially convenient for travellers departing from the capital.

Return prices start at just £2 plus 21,500 Avios for Toulon, while Madrid comes in at £2 plus 28,000 Avios - both including 23kg of checked baggage.

Toulon is a brand-new destination for British Airways this summer, and it is the closest airport to the glamour of Saint-Tropez. For those heading to the French Riviera, Toulon offers a gateway to one of Europe's most sought-after coastal destinations without the usual premium price tag.

The Madrid flights are perfectly timed for the late May bank holiday, giving travellers a chance to explore Spain's cultural capital.

British Airways' chief commercial officer, Colm Lacy, said: "We're excited to release these latest Avios-Only flights, to two top leisure destinations for summer.

"These flights are always incredibly popular, and we're delighted to give our loyal customers even more opportunities to enjoy the benefits of The British Airways Club."

IAG Loyalty's CEO, Adam Daniels, added: "While it's not been too long since our last Avios-Only flight, we are excited to be starting the year by announcing another two flights on London City Airport's hottest new routes to Toulon and Madrid.

"With all seats onboard only available to book with Avios, the initiative shows the continued power of loyalty, and opens up greater redemption opportunities for customers during the peak summer months."

British Airways first launched its Avios-Only flights back in 2023, and since then, the airline has operated 48 such services to 16 destinations spanning Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and the Middle East.

Previous routes have included Cape Town, Barbados, Sharm El Sheikh, Málaga and Marrakesh. The return flight from Madrid to London will actually mark the 50th milestone for the programme.

There's also good news for customers holding a British Airways American Express Credit Card - they can use their Companion Vouchers on these flights, which means a second seat for no additional Avios, just the taxes and charges.
