You can step from a peaceful temple garden into a neon-lit district within minutes; it's that contrast that makes the experience so captivating.
"Tokyo captures Japan's unique blend of tradition and modernity, from the calm of the Meiji Shrine to the neon energy of Akihabara. Travellers can enjoy striking views of Mount Fuji from Lake Kawaguchi or the hot-spring town of Hakone, before experiencing the speed and efficiency of the bullet train.

With exceptional cuisine and vibrant seasonal scenery, from cherry blossoms to autumn maples, Japan remains one of the world's most atmospheric long-haul destinations."

Locke explained: "Sri Lanka offers a remarkable mix of culture, wildlife and coastal scenery, with ancient cities, tea country and tropical beaches all within easy reach. Highlights include the dramatic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, rising high above the jungle, and the sacred city of Kandy, home to the Temple of the Tooth.
