X, formerly known as Twitter, was hit with an outage as multiple users reported problems accessing the app or website.
The site, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, went down yesterday too, as nearly 12,000 individuals reported the site crashing on the independent website, Downdetector.
Over 25,000 American users reported the social media platform going down.
Trying to load new posts led to an error message stating: "Something went wrong. Try reloading."

Other users reported X trying to load before receiving a message saying: "Posts aren't loading right now, try again."
One user wrote on Downdetector: "Twitter was down most of the day yesterday, and it's down again today, what's going on?"
Another commenter on the side noted: "Tweets not loading right now for past hour"
Musk bought Twitter in October 2022 for $44billion (£32.5billion) and laid off around 80 per cent of employees.

Upon purchasing the site, Musk posted on the social media platform: "The bird is freed", and later said: "Let the good times roll".
The app was hit by a "massive cyber attack" in March 2025, which triggered sporadic outages.
Musk posted in March: "There was (still is) a massive cyber attack against X.
"We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved."

The cause of the outage today is currently unknown.
After the acquisition of Twitter in October 2022, Musk rebranded the site to X on July 23, 2023, with its domain name changed from twitter.com to x.com just under a year later.
Grok AI, introduced by xAI in November 2023, has become a central figure of X's user experience.
Now in its third iteration, the advanced chatbot aims to offer real-time information access, image generation, and document summarisation across the platform.
