It will compete head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7

Motorola has just unveiled a trio of brand-new Razr smartphones — Razr 70, Razr 70 Plus, and Razr 70 Ultra.

All three models feature the iconic Razr flip-phone design, based on the original models released from 2004 onwards. Now equipped with a flexible OLED screen, the Razr is designed to slip into pockets and small bags with ease.

There's a titanium-reinforced hinge that's been refined over multiple generations of this foldable phone, and the external display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic with 10x better drop performance. Each of these new Razr models arrives with the same softly rounded edges and a titanium-reinforced hinge as prior models.

The latest Motorola handsets are the successors to the Razr 60 lineup, released last year, and are designed with new camera functions, enhanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) features, long-lasting battery, and more.

It also arrives after its book-style Razr Fold — opening up like a paperback to reveal an expansive tablet-like touchscreen on the inside — was announced earlier this year.

The top-of-the-line Razr 70 Ultra is packed with the Snapdragon 8 Elite system-on-a-chip under the hood — the same silicon powering its predecessor, as well as Galaxy S25 lineup, OnePlus 13, Hono Magic Pro 7, and others.

Motorola has fitted its Razr 70 Ultra with three separate 50MP cameras, including a main sensor coupled with a LOFIC sensor – a new dedicated tool that captures up to six times more dynamic range for more detail in both bright highlights and deep shadows across all of your photos. So far, it's been seen on a very few other handsets, including the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Honor Magic 6 RSR.

There's also a 50MP Ultrawide camera that can handle close-up Macro photography, and a selfie camera embedded inside the foldable screen for video calls.

Motorola has added support for Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Pantone-validated colours, so your photos should look true to life. Its Dolby Vision Capture rounds things out for video enthusiasts who want that cinematic quality.

Motorola's Flex View lets you use the hinge design to prop-open the phone for hands-free shots, so there's no need to pack a tripod.

When these new Razr handsets are folded away, you'll be able to use the external 4-inch touchscreen to check notifications, send messages, and even run full apps without the need to flip the phone open. The flagship Razr 70 Ultra relies on Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic to protect that exterior screen, promising 10x better drop performance.

Flip open the Razr 70 Ultra, and you'll find an expansive 6.9-inch screen just like the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with 165Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness hitting 3000 nits — more responsive and brighter than its predecessors. You can even interact with it hands-free by hovering your hand over the screen to wake it up or silence an alarm.

And if you're worried about battery life, Motorola's packed in a 5000mAh cell that promises over 36 hours on a single charge. When you do need to top up, the 68W TurboPower charger is designed to give you enough juice for the day in just eight minutes.

Despite its long battery life, Motorola has managed to keep the Razr 70 Ultra slim and pocketable, thanks to newer silicon-carbon battery technology that maximises capacity without making the design too chunky.

Motorola's moto AI is already used by over a million monthly users and offers handy features like "Catch me up" for notification summaries and "Next Move" for real-time suggestions. You also get access to Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity for different tasks.
