If you've upgraded to one of the new iPhone models announced this month, there's a brand-new iOS update waiting for you to install. Apple has released a minor update to iOS 26 designed to resolve several glitches that've cropped up for some iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max owners since launch.
Head to Settings > General > Software Update and download iOS 26.0.1 now.
The update to iOS 26.0.1 fixes camera glitches that were found to cause strange artefacts in photos taken under certain lighting conditions – particularly noticeable at concerts where bright LED lights created square blank spots in some images for new iPhone owners.
If your iPhone has been randomly disconnecting from Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, then iOS 26.0.1 will fix the glitch. As well as disrupting music or video streaming, FaceTime calls or downloads, the connectivity glitch will also disconnect CarPlay mid-journey — leaving you without turn-by-turn navigation.
Beyond the connectivity fixes, you'll find solutions for several other annoying bugs. If you couldn't connect to your mobile network after installing iOS 26, this update should get you back online. Those blank app icons that appeared after you customised the tint across the Home Screen? Those will display correctly now.
While the bulk of the bug fixes in iOS 26.0.1 are reserved for the newest hardware, the latest update is available for all iPhone owners worldwide. Some of the bug fixes — like the glitch that impacted app icons — impact more than just those with the newest iPhone 17, iPhone Air, or iPhone 17 Pro in their pockets.

According to Apple, these are all of the changes baked into iOS 26.0.1:
This update provides important bug fixes and security updates for your iPhone, including fixes for the following issues:- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth may occasionally disconnect on iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17 Pro models
- A small number of iPhone users may be unable to connect to a cellular network after updating to iOS 26
- Photos taken under certain lighting conditions with iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17 Pro models may include unexpected artefacts
- App icons may appear blank after adding a custom tint
- VoiceOver may become disabled for some users after updating to iOS 26
It's not just iPhone owners who've been treated to a new update, with the Californian company rolling out similar changes across all devices, with macOS Tahoe 26.0.1, iPadOS 26.0.1, and watchOS 26.0.1 now available to download too.
These updates focus on ironing out stability problems that've cropped up after these major releases first arrived a fortnight ago. Mac users can download macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 via System Settings, while iPad owners will find their update in the same General > Software Update section as iPhone.
If you've got an Apple Watch, you'll need to use the Watch app on your iPhone to install watchOS 26.0.1. Apple's also pushed out updates for Vision Pro and Apple TV, bringing visionOS and tvOS to version 26.0.1.
It's clear Apple's taking a unified approach, releasing fixes for all its platforms simultaneously to ensure a smoother experience across devices. It turns out this is perfectly normal for Apple – major iOS releases always bring a few bugs that only surface once millions of people start using them. The company typically discovers these issues quickly after public launch, when the user base expands far beyond beta testers.
iOS 26 introduced the new Liquid Glass design across all Apple devices, marking a significant visual refresh. The new design adds the real-life properties of glass throughout the operating system — with new transparency added to menus, real-time light refractions, and distortions as glass-like panels slide over one another.
Apple says it's all designed to maximise the amount of screen real estate occupied by your content, not the furniture required to navigate around the operating system. Aside from the glass-like visuals, Liquid Glass also adds bouncy and squishy animations as you swipe, tap, and press on elements in the software.
As well as unifying its operating systems under this new aesthetic, Apple has reset the numbering system to be identical across its platforms, with iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS, and tvOS all sharing the same version number for the first time.
