Sonay Kartal's hopes and dreams of Wimbledon glory are over for the year, with the Briton losing to Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in their round of 16 clash on Sunday.
The 23-year-old had gone into the showdown full of confidence after victories over Diane Parry, Viktoriya Tomova and Jeļena Ostapenko.
However, despite having the backing of the Centre Court crowd, Kartal exited the tournament with Pavlyuchenkova winning 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.
Kartal will be delighted with her run to the round of 16. Her exploits have earned her £240,000, while Pavlyuchenkova has clinched a guaranteed sum of £400,000.

Wimbledon prize money is equal for both male and female players this year.
Semi-finals will bank a figure of £775,000, which makes up 8.4 per cent of the overall kitty.
The runner-up is paid £1.52million, while the winner will claim £3m.
Kartal hadn't won a single match at a Grand Slam before this year's tournament. However, the Briton's run to the fourth round suggests she's capable of playing at a high level going forward - which is now likely to become her aim.
The tie-break in the first set will be particularly disappointing.
Kartal had battled well to that point but Pavlyuchenkova, who will now compete in the past eight at Wimbledon for the first time in nine years, managed to edge ahead.
She also hadn't made it beyind the third round in five of her previous attempts.
Noami Brady, reacting to Kartal's defeat, said: "I love the applause from the crowd there because, as much as it was for Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, I think we have also heard the appreciation for Sonay Kartal.

"She is going to be a career-high on Monday, moving back inside the world's top 50 again.
"It wasn't to be today."
The defeat also means that Cameron Norrie is now the last British tennis player standing.
