The Serb is through to the quarter-finals for the 19th time in his career

Novak Djokovic swept aside Cameron Norrie 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 in the French Open fourth round to claim his 100th career victory at Roland Garros.

The 38-year-old became the oldest player to reach the quarter-finals in the men's draw for half a century.

Djokovic improved to 100-16 at the French Open, a milestone surpassed among men only by Rafael Nadal, who finished with a 112-4 record.

The three-time Roland Garros champion has not dropped a set on his way to the quarter-finals this year.

Speaking on court after the win, Djokovic remained focused: "It's a good number, but victory 101 would be better."

Djokovic is the only player in tennis history to have 90+ wins at every Slam - no other player has 75 wins in all of them.

During the match, Norrie needed a medical timeout in the second set for a foot problem that affected his movement.

The British No. 3 was seen limping during what became a painful straight-sets defeat.

The foot injury appeared to hamper Norrie's mobility as Djokovic capitalised on his opponent's discomfort.

After the medical treatment, Norrie was promptly broken as the Serbian moved two sets ahead.

This marked Norrie's sixth consecutive defeat against Djokovic, having previously lost to him in the 2022 Wimbledon semi-final where he managed to claim at least one set.

The contest was closer than the scoreline suggested, with Djokovic needing six-game points to hold serve at one stage in the second set.

Both players employed drop shots frequently, with Djokovic using his 18 times throughout the match to greater effect.

The Serbian was never really under pressure at any point during the two-hour encounter.

This fourth-round appearance marked Norrie's best run at Roland Garros, having reached this stage for the first time.

The 29-year-old had become one of two British players, along with Jack Draper, in the fourth round for the first time since 1963.

Djokovic will face German third seed Alexander Zverev in Wednesday's quarter-final after Zverev progressed when Tallon Griekspoor retired injured in the second set.

The Serbian remains in pursuit of a fourth Roland Garros title and a record 25th Grand Slam crown.

Djokovic said: "I am very happy to make history in this sport that I have loved for my whole life and I hope that I will be able to add another victory in two days."

The 38-year-old appears to be in top form after collecting his 100th title at the Geneva Open the week before play began in Paris.
