The 49-year-old has rekindled his romance with Strictly star Laila Rouass with the pair planning a move away

Snooker legend Ronnie O'Sullivan has rekindled his romance with former fiancée Laila Rouass, nine months after their separation.

The seven-time world champion and the actress are planning a fresh start in Dubai, with O'Sullivan putting his £2million Essex home on the market.

Friends of the couple revealed they have been back together for several months.

"The time apart gave them time to think about what they want and what is important to them and that is being together," a source told The Sun.

The planned move to the UAE would position them within a two-hour flight of O'Sullivan's snooker academy in Saudi Arabia.

O'Sullivan is selling his £2million property in Chigwell, Essex, as part of the couple's plans for a "clean break" from the UK.

The 49-year-old has discussed the move with colleagues on the snooker circuit and is reportedly excited about the fresh start.

"Ronnie is moving to the Middle East and Laila is going with him.

"They've talked about living in Dubai, which is just a two-hour flight from where Ronnie has his snooker academy in Saudi Arabia," the source said.

"He has spoken to people on his snooker circuit about the move and is excited about a clean break from the UK for him and Laila."

The couple's relationship spans 13 years, with O'Sullivan proposing to the 53-year-old Strictly Come Dancing star in 2013, a year after they began dating.

Their engagement ended last September when his demanding work schedule drove them apart.

"They have had their issues in the past but Ronnie and Laila have worked through it and seem really happy again," the source added.

"The people who know them think they make a great couple and just want them to live a happy, quiet life."

Friends acknowledge the couple's history of separations: "They've been on and off before, but Ronnie really wants to make it work with Laila," the source said.

O'Sullivan first mentioned his plans to relocate earlier this year, though he described them as preliminary at the time.

Following his defeat in the World Championship semi-finals in May, he confirmed his intentions.

"I think I am going to be moving out of the UK this year. I'll be moving away to the Middle East. We'll see how it goes, I might be back in six months," he said.

"I will still try to play snooker, but I don't know what the future looks like for me really.

"It is a big part of my life but I have to try and figure out what my future looks like, whether it's playing or not."
