The Spanish club will pay 103m euros (£88.5m) for the 19-year-old

Real Madrid have announced the signing of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, with the England midfielder agreeing a six-year contract at the Bernabeu.

The Spanish club will pay 103m euros (£88.5m) for the 19-year-old, in addition to various potential add-ons which could mean the deal could reach 11.9m euros (115m).

Dortmund confirmed in a statement last week that the club had agreed to pay an initial 103m euros to land Bellingham.

Real Madrid have confirmed that the deal is now complete.

A statement from the 14-time Champions League winners said: “Real Madrid CF and Borussia Dortmund have agreed on the transfer of the player Jude Bellingham, who will remain linked to our club for the next six seasons.

“Tomorrow, Thursday 15 June, at 12pm at Real Madrid City, the presentation ceremony for Jude Bellingham as a new Real Madrid player will take place.”

Dortmund revealed that the transfer fee consisted of a “high fixed sum” and “performance-related variables” spread over a period of six years.

“We thank Jude for three passion-filled years at Borussia Dortmund. It was a fantastic time together” said CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke.

“Our thanks also go to Real Madrid for the always fair and constructive discussions.”

One of England's top performers at last year's World Cup, Bellingham was named the Bundesliga's player of the season as Dortmund missed out on a first league title in 11 years on the final day.

The initial fee means he becomes the second-most expensive English footballer after Jack Grealish, for whom Manchester City paid Aston Villa £100m in 2021.

Bellingham is also Real Madrid's second-most expensive signing, after Eden Hazard's 115m euro move from Chelsea in 2019, and the third-most expensive teenager in history.

Bellingham told Dortmund’s official club website: “Thank you everyone associated with BVB and the fans for everything over the last three years.

"It was an honour to wear your jersey so many times whether it was in the high or low moments.”

He added: Whilst I’m happy about my next destination, I will never forget the journey I went on to get there. Einmal Borusse, immer Borusse. Best of luck for the future. Heja BVB!”
