Sergio Garcia will not play any events on the DP World Tour this year after it was revealed he missed the deadline to apply to renew his membership.
The Spanish golf star is Team Europe's all-time leading points earner in the Ryder Cup but was ineligible to feature last year after resigning his DP World Tour membership to join LIV Golf.
Garcia decided to hand in his membership to avoid his list of fines mounting up even more for playing on the LIV tour.
Missing out on the Ryder Cup in Italy was clearly a bitter blow to Garcia, who made a last-ditch attempt to earn a spot on Luke Donald's team by paying off his fines that had tallied up towards £700,000.

His plea was ultimately denied by the DP World Tour at the time, but he did have the opportunity of reapplying for his tour membership at the end of the year.
That's something that is clearly on Garcia's mind as he told YouTube's Rick Shiels that he planned to "be a member again of the European Tour next year".
But it's now being reported that Garcia missed the November 19 deadline to apply for 2024 membership.
The interview was said to have taken place in November last year and appeared to indicate he was hopeful of playing in DP World Tour events in 2024.
But the 2017 Masters champion will now have to wait until 2025 to feature on the DP World Tour.
He'll be able to apply for membership when the application window reopens, but that might come too late to be considered for a spot on Team Europe for the 2025 Ryder Cup.
When asked about making a return to the Ryder Cup, Garcia said that he was hopeful the decision-makers would one day consider him.
“I want to give myself the best possibility for it (being in the Ryder Cup team)," he added.

"Then yes, only playing a handful of events, it’s not easy to make it unless you do super, super well,” he added.
“But I guess at the end of the day, if I’m eligible, if they see I’m making the effort, if I do well in LIV and I’m consistent, hopefully, I can be considered.
