The Reds fought back from one goal down to claim an important three points

Liverpool came from behind to beat Luton 4-1 and again extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to four points.

The Reds trailed 1-0 at half-time at Anfield, with manager Jurgen Klopp left frustrated with his own supporters in the first half.

Luton took a surprise lead in the 12th minute when Tahith Chong's shot across goal squeezed under Caoimhin Kelleher and Chiedozie Ogbene was at the back post to head in.

As expected, the hosts were dominating large parts of the match but were wasteful in front of goal, with Luis Diaz in particular passing up several opportunities.

Klopp must have done the trick at half-time, as Liverpool turned the game on its head within 13 minutes of the second half starting. Virgil van Dijk headed in from an Alexis Mac Allister corner to draw the game level.

Liverpool were in front less than two minutes later when Cody Gakpo turned Mac Allister's cross in with his head from point-blank range. The victory was all but sealed when Diaz finally got his goal after a smart run and finish.

Harvey Elliott scored his side's fourth late on, with the Reds now four points clear of second-placed Manchester City, although Pep Guardiola's side do have a game in hand.

Klopp angry at fans

After Klopp revealed he would be leaving in the summer, the German called on supporters to carry the team through for the remainder of the season.

But he has never been afraid of voicing criticism towards the fans when he feels it is right to do so.

One moment in the first half tonight saw Klopp turn around and moan at the crowd in the Main Stand.

Harvey Elliott misplaced a pass and the fans reacted with audible groans.

X account @AnfieldSector claimed Klopp lost his 'temper' with the supporters behind the dugout.

Many fans would not accept their manager criticising them so publicly but Klopp has got that respect with the Anfield faithful.

Liverpool are still vying to win all four competitions and will need their supporters on side if they are to have a memorable end to the season.

Klopp knows he has often got a reaction from them in the past and will be hoping that happens again in the coming weeks.

Darwin Nunez may be the butt of some jokes with opposition fans but he has become a vital player for the Reds.

He will always miss his fair share of chances but his unpredictability is what sets him apart from others.

Nunez has almost become one of the first names on the Liverpool team sheet, especially now Diogo Jota is set for a spell on the sidelines through injury.

Klopp will hope to have the Uruguay star back fit for the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday.

Liverpool's injury problems have continued to mount up in recent weeks.

They were without 11 players for tonight's match, with Mohamed Salah not deemed fit enough to make the bench.

A number of youngsters were on the bench, including 16-year-old attacking midfielder Trey Nyoni and 18-year-old striker Jayden Danns.

If Liverpool are to fight on all fronts, then Klopp needs some of his senior players to return.
