A US man has been charged with attempted murder over the shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd in Manhattan last month.
Frederick Green, 20, from the Bronx, was taken into custody on Monday in Buffalo, approximately 360 miles from New York City, where he had been staying at his girlfriend's flat, according to law enforcement sources.
Police confirmed Green faces additional charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the incident.
The arrest came more than three weeks after Boyd was shot outside a restaurant in Midtown Manhattan during the early hours of November 16.

Boyd, 29, had been enjoying a night out with teammates Jamien Sherwood and Irvin Charles, along with another friend.
The group encountered strangers who mocked their clothing outside the Asian fusion restaurant Sei Less on West 38th Street.
According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, the men entered the establishment but departed after just five to ten minutes because "the vibe was off".
Upon leaving, they were confronted again by the same individuals, who questioned whether they considered themselves superior.
